Investigators from the Hanover Park Police Department continue to investigate the homicide of Jennifer Gustafson, who was found deceased in her residence at 5712 Barr Court on August 25, 2011. Investigators have been working with the DuPage County States Attorney’s Office and at this time the investigation is ongoing.

The victim’s husband Jeffrey Ferrigan 50, who is a person of interest in the case, died today at 10:00 am at Silver Cross Hospital. Ferrigan had been in the hospital since August 25^th when he was shot by law enforcement officers, who Ferrigan had assaulted with a knife.

At this time a cause of death for Ferrigan has not been determined and the Will County Coroner’s Office will conduct an autopsy at a later date.
