Electronics/Holiday Light Recycling The Hanover Park Public Works Department would like to remind the public of several recycling opportunities. The Village, in conjunction with Elgin Recycling, is offering free holiday light and extension cord recycling at the Public Works facility located at 2041 Lake Street. People can bring in old or burnt out strands of their holiday lights Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., until February 28th. Also, on January 1st, a new statewide electronics ban from landfills goes into effect. The Village accepts electronics year round at its Public Works facility. Please check the Village website www.hpil.org or call 630-372-4440 for a list of acceptable items. “These programs are offered to the general public, not just Hanover Park residents,” stated Howard Killian, Director of Public Works. Last year, the Village collected 418 pounds of holiday lights and 45,276 pounds of electronics. _______________________________ You are receiving this email because you are subscribed to the Village of Hanover Park Mailing List.
