Hanover Park Village CenterCONCEPT PLAN OPEN HOUSEThe Village of Hanover Park is holding a public open house to present two concept plans for their future Village Center. The concept plans have been developed with the input of over 300 residents, who participated in an online survey, interactive workshop, and stakeholder interviews. All residents and employees in the Village are invited to attend to view plans, share comments, and hear a brief presentation.
The Open House will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in the Municipal Building at 2121 W. Lake Street, Room 214.
The open house is part of the ongoing Village Center Plan, which is exploring the potential for mixed-use infill development around the Hanover Park Metra station. The Village Center will serve as a gathering place to include retail, restaurants, office, and housing, all within an area accessible by multiple forms of transportation.
With a large amount of undeveloped land in proximity to regional transportation, major shopping centers, and international business parks, the Hanover Park Village Center is one of the most significant new development opportunities in the Chicago metro region. The Village Center Plan will result in an overall site plan that will guide significant new development for years to come. It will include new zoning, development standards, and incentive programs.

The Hanover Park Village Center Plan will be mixed-use infill development around the Metra station, southwest of the intersection of Lake Street and County Farm Road. The area will serve as a gathering spot, to include retail, restaurants, and housing. Multiple transportation options, including car, bus, bike, and pedestrian, will converge in the area. Future westward extension of the Elgin-O’Hare expressway into a multi-access boulevard will provide opportunity for a sizeable business park to the south of the area.
