These economic development efforts lead to the establishment of a solid, diversified tax base, increased property values, and an enhanced community image. Vital steps to achieving this goal include a thorough evaluation of proposed developments, careful long-range planning, and zoning administration. Other specific Division responsibilities include:

  • Staff support for the Development Commission, Economic Development Committee, and Historic Committee.
  • Providing information and technical assistance for developers, architects, and homeowners.
  • Administration (and periodic updating) of the Zoning Ordinance, Sign Code, and Subdivision Code.
  • The Village of Hanover Park’s marketing program, including participation at local and national trade shows, networking with real estate and development professionals, responding to inquiries for businesses wishing to locate in the Village, and promoting the Village through press releases and articles in trade publications.
