Village of Hanover Park Hosts Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony

The Village of Hanover Park will host a holiday tree lighting ceremony Friday, December 4, 2009, at 6:30 pmat the Village Municipal Complex located at 2121 W. Lake Street Hanover Park.

Sharing in the joy of the season and their pride for Hanover Park, not-for-profit organizations and local groups will have decorated the trees on display at Village Hall. Twenty of these organizations will be participating, among them include local schools, homeowner associations, community organizations, such as Centro de Información and the Lions Club of Hanover Park, the American Cancer Society: Relay for Life, and youth sports organization Hurricane Football and Cheerleading.

At 6:30 with a "flip of the switch" by Village President Rod Craig; all holiday trees, Lake Street Holiday lights and Municipal Complex holiday lights will be illuminated at once. Our special guest, Santa, will arrive by Fire Truck. Entertainment will be provided the Spring Wood Middle School Band and Choir, the Greenbrook Elementary School Choir, St. Ansgar Church Choir, the Allegro Dance Troupe and Dave Herzog's Marionettes will perform "Christmas Capers" The marionette show is sponsored by the Schaumburg Township District Library.

US 2010 Census Representatives will be present to promote awareness on the 2010 Census and in conjunction with the St. Ansgar Choir will present “Un Canto de Posada,” a cultural performance on the Holiday History of the Census.

Refreshments will be provided by the Hanover Park Lions Club.
