Hanover Park Police Respond to Shots Fired Call

On Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 11:55 pm, the Hanover Park Police Department responded to a call of shots fired in the 1700 block of Goddard Lane. The responding officers located a vehicle with a five occupants parked in the area and one of the occupants was injured after being struck in the buttocks by a bullet. The male victim was subsequently transported to Glen Oaks Hospital for treatment and the other four occupants were not injured. The victims injuries are not considered to be life threatening. A subsequent investigation determined that the victim was a passenger in a vehicle that had just arrived at a party in the 1700 block of Goddard Lane. The victim and the other occupants of the vehicle engaged in a verbal dispute with an individual identified as Miangelo Roberts 17, who resides in the 1700 Block of McCormick Lane, Hanover Park. Roberts had just left the party prior to the verbal dispute and subsequently fired at the vehicle the victim was in twice as it was driving away from Roberts. Roberts was located a short time later and he subsequently admitted to shooting at the victim̢۪s vehicle. The gun used by Roberts was also located at his residence by investigators. Roberts is being charged as an adult with aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated discharge of a firearm. Roberts was then transported to the DuPage County Jail and is expected to appear for a bond hearing on May 10th.
