Armed Robbery at PL$ Loan Store

On Saturday October 16, 2010 two males were arrested for committing an armed robbery at the PL$ Loan Store at 7300 Barrington Rd, Hanover Park on October 11th. The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved one count of aggravated robbery for Dierdrick Steffon Gillon 18-years old of 1234 S. Troy, Chicago and Tirish Shepard 32-years old of 545 Thornhill, Carol Stream.
Gillon was located in Oakbrook Terrace by the Oakbrook Terrace Police Department on Friday October 15th. A bulletin was distributed to other police departments after the robbery with a surveillance photo of the offender. An Oakbrook Terrace Police Officer noticed Gillon and determined that he matched the description of the offender in the surveillance photo. Gillon was then questioned by Investigators of the Hanover Park Police Department and he implicated himself as the offender that committed the armed robbery. Investigators determined that a second individual was involved and Shepard was then located.
Gillon and Shepard will be transported to Rolling Meadows on Monday October 18th for a bond hearing. Chief David Webb indicated that he is very pleased with the quick resolution of this case and stated that the officer from the Oakbrook Terrace Police Department who located Gillon should be commended for his exemplary work.
