The Department of Community Development administers the planning, zoning, economic development, building permit and inspection, health, and nonresidential code enforcement activities for the Village. Planning and Economic Development
The Planning and Economic Development Division encourages economic growth by attracting new businesses and developments to the Village, as well as retaining and expanding existing businesses and developments. (Comprehensive Plan and Village Center)
The Planning and Economic Development Division is also responsible for administering and implementing the long-range land use planning goals for the Village of Hanover Park. Key reference information is provided via the Village's Comprehensive Plan, which was approved in August, 1998 and updated in 2010. In addition to the Comprehensive Plan, the Village approved the Village Center Tax Increment Finance (TIF) District Plan in May, 2001.
