 OBJECTIVE

To slow down the deterioration of the Village's asphalt pavements.

DESCRIPTION:

This project includes crack sealing of various streets throughout the Village as well as crack sealing, sealcoating, and striping of the north commuter parking lot.  The use of a crack seal agent prevents moisture, dirt, and debris from entering the pavement at locations where it was not intended, slowing down the pavement at locations where it was not intended, slowing down the pavement deterioration.  Installation of a sealcoat helps reduce raveling (loss of aggregate) on the surface of the asphalt pavement.

8/23/23 UPDATE

The streets portion of the crack sealing has been completed. The Metra parking lot sealcoating is scheduled to begin Friday, August 25, 2023. The parking lot will be closed from 6:00 AM on Friday, August 25th, through Sunday, August 27th.  Maintenance work will take place on Friday and Saturday.  The 2023 Car & Motorcycle Show is on Sunday, August 27th.
