Recycling Dropoff at village Hall

Electronic Recycling Cancellation Notice

As of July 1, 2015 the Village is no longer able to accept electronic recycling. We apologize for the inconvenience. The current vendor was non-responsive and there is very limited space for storage of recyclable items while a vendor is located. The Village will continue to look for a vendor that can provide this service to the residents. The intent is to bring back electronic recycling as a service to the residents as soon as possible. Recycling is an important part of a strong sustainable infrastructure and the Village has worked diligently to provide this service. This interruption in service is unfortunate, but is only a minor setback toward building a sustainable future the Village can be proud of.

Items we Accept for Recycling

The following items are still being accepted for recycling at the Public Works facility:

  • CFL and Fluorescent Light Bulbs
  • Household Batteries (Alkaline, Ni-Cad and Lithium)
  • Christmas Lights from January 1st through March 31st.

You can drop off your recycling items from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Groot offers free electronics recycling.  Two electronic waste items (including televisions up to 50 pounds) can be disposed. You are required to contact Groot at 630-469-1036 at least 24 hours in advance of your designated service day to schedule a pickup.
