Corks & Crafts- September 18
The 2021 Corks & Crafts festival will feature a wide variety of wine and craft beer sampling, arts & crafts along with great music and delicious food. Our Paint and Sip tent will return so grab a drink and settle down to paint a festive fall picture in a friendly setting. We hope you can make it! Stay tuned as we finalize our plans for this popular event.

Hanover Park Recycles! September 25
The Hanover Park Environmental Committee will be hosting their 11th annual Recycling Event. More information will be provided at a later date or call 630-823-5706. Recyclable Items Cell phones and ink-jet cartridges / Eyeglasses, hearing aids, and keys / CFL and fluorescent bulbs / Household batteries / Large lead-acid batteries (automobile, sump pump, SLA, and marine batteries only) / Motor oil and antifreeze / Clean, usable child and adult clothing / Fire extinguishers and scrap metal / Working bikes, books, records, musical instruments, Brita & Pur filter/ Personal documents for shredding (service is free; No businesses. No hard covers, binders, binder clips, or books. Staples and paperclips OK) Unacceptable Items No electronics accepted / Paint / Large appliances (such as refrigerators and ovens) / Oil filters / Needles / Prescription drugs can be dropped off in the PD Lobby/ Water heaters / Air conditioners / Garbage disposals

Fire Dept Open House- October 9
Each year, the Fire Department hosts an Open House which allows residents an opportunity to see a demonstration of various equipment in the Fire Department, as well as receive information on fire prevention. Event attendees are welcome to participate in many of the open house activities and educational demonstrations, all focused on fire prevention and safety techniques. Activities include a tour of Hanover Park Fire Station where attendees could see how the fire station operates, special search and rescue dogs, fire safety activities, crafts, and even the opportunity to dress like a firefighter for the day. Dupage River Sweep- October 23
Help keep our rivers clean by joining your fellow community-members in this annual record-setting clean-up event! Each year, hundreds of volunteers work together to remove thousands of pounds of debris from 50+ miles of shoreline in DuPage County.

This event is hosted by the Cultural Inclusion and Diversity Committee. This year, the event will be presenting on a topic that is relevant to their demographics and policy series again. The topic of discussion is to be determined

Veterans Day Observance- November 11
The Village of Hanover Park’s Veterans Committee invites all residents to attend our Veterans Day Observance to honor and recognize Hanover Park veterans. The Committee will be collecting items for our troops that will be sent to them through Operation Airlift. A list of needed items can be found on the Village’s website www.hpil.org under Government Committees and Commissions, Veterans Committee. More information will be provided at a later date.
