Mayor Craig's Weekly Message to the Community

Hanover Park Village Board Appoints New Village Trustee 


On June 4, 2020, the Village of Hanover Park Board of Trustee appointed and welcomed new Village Trustee Liza Gutierrez.

Liza Gutierrez has made Hanover Park her home for the last 12 years along with her husband and two children. She is originally from Chicago Illinois and received both her undergraduate and graduate degree from Loyola University in Criminology. She has worked in both nonprofit and government areas. Currently working for Partners for Our Communities, she spearheaded and coordinates the women's program known as ROLE. She leads with a passion for social services, behavioral health care and a vision for connected communities. 
 
She will serve out the unexpired term of former Trustee Fanny Lopez Benitez who resigned her position effective May 31, 2020.



Village of Hanover Park Town Hall with Assessor Fritz Kaegi


The Village of Hanover Park invites owners of Hanover Park commercial properties located in Cook County to join us in a Town Hall meeting with Cook County Assessor Fritz Kaegi at 3:00 PM on Thursday June 18, 2020.

The meeting will be a virtual on-line meeting via Zoom.   The Village reached out to the Assessor after receiving calls from our property owners questioning the increase in property valuations.  The Assessor will discuss:


  • How commercial property assessments work and Assessor office policies

  • Tax appeal – process, calendar, and the information needed to file an appeal

  • Data resources available on Assessor website.


Assessor Kaegi will be available for questions and answers.   This is a virtual Town Hall meeting to be held on Zoom. To join the meeting: the Zoom link is:    https://zoom.us/j/98919061190.
