Press Conference Held to Discuss CPKC Railway Merger

Hanover Park Village President Rodney S. Craig, U.S. Senator Dick Durbin, U.S. Representative Raja Krishnamoorthi and other local mayors and representatives from The Coalition to Stop CPKC held a press conference in Schaumburg to discuss the proposed merger between the Canadian Pacific and Kansas City Southern railroads.

Village President Craig and members of Coalition to Stop CPCK recently testified before the Surface Transportation Board in Washington D.C. to discuss the negative impact on the coalition communities that will be effected by the increase in freight train traffic and train lengths.

Apply to the Climate & Health Institute

The UIC School of Public Health is excited to announce a new Climate and Health Institute! With support from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Climate and Health Institute is a two-year program for public health students and a 1-year program community members.

In the first year, it will provide an academic and practical experience on climate change, public health, and equity and community members can receive a certificate of completion. Come learn more about how climate change is impacting people’s health, your community’s health, and what we can do about it! Learn more about the Climate and Health Institute here.
