Move with the Mayor

Join the Move with the Mayor® Spring Mental Health and Physical Activity Challenge

This May join Mayor Rod Craig & mayors across the country in participating in the Move with the Mayor® Spring Mental Health and Physical Activity Challenge.

The challenge promotes social connectivity, mental health awareness, and physical activity through a variety of activities. One of the core components of the challenge is encouraging participants to connect with others while being physically active.

This can include activities like joining a local sports team, participating in community events and walking with a friend. The goal is to improve your physical and mental well-being by fostering meaningful connections. For more information on Hanover Park Move with the Mayor events and information, visit www.hpil.org/mwtm.

Volunteers Needed for Committees

The Village of Hanover Park relies heavily on volunteers to serve on many of their Boards, Committees and Commissions. Members are appointed by the Village President and Board of Trustees. The Village President submits names of people who wish to serve on a committee or commission and, upon approval of the Board, appoints them to serve appropriate terms.

Visit our website for information on the volunteer opportunities the Village offers on the many committees that serve the community. Any questions pertaining to any of these organizations, such as activities, meeting schedules, etc., can be directed to the Village Manager’s Office at (630) 823-5608.

HPPD Distracted Driving Enforcement Results

The Hanover Park Police Department announced it made more than 1,000 traffic stops resulting in 13 DUI arrests and approximately 662 citations issued with 133 citations being for hands-free law violations during April’s Distracted Driving Awareness Month enforcement campaign.

“Driver distraction is a persistent issue in Hanover Park that often has life-altering consequences,” said Deputy Chief Victor DiVito. “Issuing a citation is a proven way to get motorists to pay attention or pay the price. Distracted Driving Awareness Month may be over, but we will continue our efforts to stop motorists from engaging in this deadly behavior.”

Hanover Park joined forces with the Illinois State Police, local law enforcement and highway safety partners for this enforcement effort.

The Illinois distracted driving campaign was funded with federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
