Police Department Front Desk and Lobby To Close Overnight Effective September 1, 2024, the Hanover Park Police Department’s front desk and police station lobby will be closed during the overnight hours. When this new procedure begins, the police department’s lobby will close nightly at 12:00AM and reopen at 8:00AM the following morning. Such a closure is commonplace in many area police departments, and service to the community will continue to be excellent, albeit with a few operational changes.
Residents contacting the police department’s main phone line at 630-823-5500 during this time frame will be presented a message containing various options to resolve their need for police services, including the ability to speak to a police department employee if necessary. Residents attempting to enter the police department during this time frame will be required to activate a button on an intercom located just outside the main entrance of the police department lobby to speak to a member of dispatch. The dispatcher will then assign a police department employee to respond for assistance. Any questions about this transition can be directed to Deputy Chief DiVito at 630-823-5515.
