Thanksgiving Holiday Schedule Reminder


Due to the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, Village Hall will be closed tomorrow Thursday, November 28th & Friday, November 29th. Garbage pickup will be delayed to Saturday, November 30th.

Support Your Community

This Saturday, November 30th is Small Business Saturday! The “Shop Local - Shop Small” movement was created to shine a spotlight on locally owned businesses across the U.S. When you begin your holiday shopping this year, consider buying products and gift certificates from local retailers in Hanover Park before buying from national retailers.

In the age of Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Amazon, it's easy to skip over the mom-and-pop shops for the big box stores or online retailers. However, when you shop and support your favorite local shops, you will be helping to build a stronger Hanover Park because your money stays local and supports local jobs, as well as your neighbors and business community.

2024 Nomination

Nominate your favorite business for the Business of the Year Award!  All residents and businesses are encouraged to nominate outstanding local businesses that have great customer service, appearance, and/or help the community.

Nominees must be located in the Village of Hanover Park, have been in business all of 2024, and will be judged in several categories including, but not limited to:

  • Community Involvement
  • Excellence in Customer Service
  • Positive Image and Appearance

2024 Tree Lighting Ceremony

The annual tree lighting ceremony will be held on December 6th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The event will be held in the Village Center located at 1900 Ontarioville Rd. Join us for a magical evening of carols, tree lighting event, mini train rides, hot cocoa, s'mores, face painting, and photos with Santa.

DuPage County Safety Action Plan Virtual Open House December 5th 6:00PM to 7:00PM

DuPage County Safety Action Plan Open House

Join DuPage County Board and Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning on December 5th for the Safe Travel for All virtual open house! Your input will help reduce and eliminate serious injuries and deaths on northeastern Illinois roads. The virtual open house will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Come share your ideas, concerns, and suggestions to make the roads safer for everyone. Santa Peeking Out

Santa is Coming to Town!


Meet Santa Claus at the Ontarioville Park Gazebo on Monday, December 9th and Monday, December 16th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The gazebo is located in the Village Center at 1900 Ontarioville Road. Be sure to bring your cameras. Furry friends are welcome as well!

Construction Updates

2024 Projects Updates:

Hanover Highlands Watermain Replacement Project Update: This week, the contractor has successfully finished all paving and restoration, marking the project as substantially completed. The remaining items are striping and a few minor punch list tasks for the contractor to address.

IDOT Project at Lake Street and Gary Avenue Update: IDOT continues to finish the work on the signals in this area, but there should not be any delays for motorists.

IDOT Project at Lake Street and IL-390 Update: IDOT’s contractor continues to work on the bridge at Lake Street and IL-390. Motorists should expect significant delays as they continue to work in this area. The use of alternate routes is advised.
