Hanover Park Wastewater Treatment Plant Receives Prestigious Honors

The Village is excited to announce that our Public Works Wastewater Treatment Plant has been named the 2025 Wastewater Treatment Plant of the Year by the Fox Valley Operators Association! This prestigious award recognizes the plant's long-standing commitment to high standards in wastewater management.

In addition to the plant's award, longtime Village employee and Sewer Treatment Plant Operator Lance Winterland received the 2025 Operator of the Year Award.

The Village is proud of the entire team for their dedication and outstanding achievements!

Arlington Drive Bridge Replacement Update: Due to the severe storms that occurred over the weekend and on Monday, work was somewhat restricted this week. The crews focused on storm clean-up and installed the forms, stone base, and rebar for the new culverts. Next week, they expect to begin pouring the base for the new culverts. 

2025 Watermain Replacement Update: The contractor has been installing the new watermain on Danforth Ct, Concord Ct, Chatsworth Ct, and Charleston Ct. They have also started transferring water services from the old to the new main. Residents will receive a notification on their door prior to their service being transferred. 

Fiber Installation (AT&T): AT&T has a number of fiber installation projects throughout the Village. Any questions or concerns about these projects should be directed to AT&T’s Construction Hotline at 800-843-6581. If you leave your name, address, and phone number, they will follow up within 48 hours.

2025 Annual Hydrant Flushing 

The Public Works Department will conduct the annual flushing of fire hydrants throughout the Village starting next Monday, August 25th through Wednesday, September 10th between the hours of 6:00 AM and 2:00 PM. 

Hydrant flushing is vital to the routine maintenance of the Village’s water system. It improves water quality and flow, lubricates the hydrant's internal mechanisms, and helps identify any deficiencies to ensure that the hydrant performs when needed for an emergency.

Please do not wash laundry during the flushing hours as rust staining of clothing may occur. Residents with water softeners are encouraged to check the cycle time of their softeners, so that the unit does not generate during this period.  

The flushing schedule and map are below. The schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions or emergencies. If you have any questions, please contact the Public Works Department at (630) 823-5700.

August 28, 29 - South of Irving Park Road and East of Barrington Road (Hanover Highlands and Longmeadow South Areas)

Fall Fun Fest Featuring Flavors of Hanover Park

Fall is almost here! Join the Hanover Park Park District on September 6th from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Community Park. There will be plenty of family-friendly activities, including hayrides, face painting, crafts, and games. Check out some live music and eat delicious food at the Flavors of Hanover Park, which will showcase dishes from local restaurants! We hope to see you there!
