2026 CPR Classes Available

February is American Heart Month, a nationwide observance that spotlights cardiovascular disease and the need for more lifesavers. Anyone can save a life. In every cardiac emergency, the real first responder is not always a uniformed professional but often a friend, family member or even a stranger nearby. Ordinary people have extraordinary power. You are the first responder until professional help arrives. Join the Nation of Lifesavers by learning CPR today. The Hanover Park Fire Department offers CPR training which includes learning child and adult CPR, how to help a choking victim and how to operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). The next class for the general public is on Saturday, February 21st.

For more information and to register for a class, visit  the Hanover Park Fire Department website.

In the Works Public Works Update

New Year, New Projects!

The Public Works and Engineering team can't wait for the weather to warm up and construction season to begin. This year's projects, ranging from road resurfacing and watermain replacement to bike path upgrades, are a part of our ongoing commitment to keeping the Village of Hanover Park safe and beautiful! Over the next few weeks, we will provide a brief overview of what is to come in 2026 and what residents should keep an eye out for during the upcoming construction season.

County Farm Road Multi-Use Path Project Overview

  • Project Location: County Farm Road from Greenbrook Boulevard to Ontarioville Road and Church Road south of Ontarioville Road
  • Project Description: Install a new multi-use path between existing bicycle paths to provide a continuous path to the Metra Station.
  • Primary Goal: To provide continuous non-vehicular access to the Metra and Pace and improve safety by eliminating gaps in the multi-use path network.
  • Impact: Temporary lane closures will likely occur during construction operations. Driveway access along the east side of Church Road will be affected as the pavement is widened to allow for the on-street portion of the path. Residents with impacted driveways will receive advance notices with instructions on parking during that time.
  • Anticipated Start Date: Spring 2026

Have questions about this upcoming project? Please contact the Engineering Division at (630) 823-5700 or check out our Current Projects webpage at www.hpil.org/1234/Current-Projects for the latest information.
