Hanover Park 60th Anniversary Fun Fact:

Pictured is the 1983 Hanover Park Police Department Bike Rodeo where families were able to register their bikes, learn about bike safety and take part in biking activities.

As part of the 60th anniversary celebrations, the Village will be hosting a bike rodeo in partnership with a ride thru the DuPage County Forest Preserves. The event, Pedal the Preserve, partners bike safety with a fun bike ride lead by Mayor Craig. See further information on Pedal the Preserve in this edition of the eNews.

Pedal the Preserve

Join the Hanover Park Police Department and Mayor Craig on a biking adventure through the forest preserves serving Hanover Park. You can even have a chance to win a free bike!

On June 23rd, the police department will host a Bike Rodeo with lots of activities and fun activities followed by a bike ride through the forest preserve lead by Mayor Rod Craig. After the ride, enjoy some FREE ice cream! Limited number of bike helmets will be available for attendees.

Construction On Village Hall

Renovations to the lobby area and Finance Department in Village Hall will begin the week of June 25th and are scheduled to conclude around Thanksgiving.

Paying your water bill or have other needs of the Finance Department? The Finance Department will be temporarily relocated to the Community room at the Police Department. The bill payment dropbox has been relocated to in front of the Police Department.

For Building Permits and Inspectional Services, please use the south entrance. For the Manager's Office, Village Clerk or Community Development, please use the southwest entrance. Parking is available to the rear of Village Hall.

Mayor Craig's Play Ball Summer Baseball Game

Mayor Craig will host a youth baseball game on July 17th at the Hanover Park Sports Complex at 5:30 p.m. as part of the U.S. Conference of Mayors Play Ball summer initiative which focuses on the fun nature of baseball and encourages an active and healthy lifestyle for kids.

Join us to watch the Hanover Park Little League Player participate in the Play Ball Summer game with team coaches from the Hanover Park Fire Department and Hanover Park Police Department. Free Hot Dogs, chips and refreshments!

Hanover Park Reads

Kids across Hanover Park’s 10 elementary schools will be reading the same books to celebrate Hanover Park’s 60th anniversary together.

This summer, please bring your kids to either Schaumburg Township Library or Poplar Creek library to sign them up. The libraries will have parties, activities and prizes to bring these books to life. Incoming kindergarten through 3rd grade will read “Dear Primo: A Letter to My Cousin” and incoming 4th to 6th graders will read “Wonder”. We will end this program at Hanover Park’s Family Fest on August 11th with a reading of "Dear Primo" and some prizes.

Join Hanover Park Environmental Committee!

The Hanover Park Environmental Committee is looking for residents to join. The committee plans and assists opportunities and information related to environmentally friendly practices.

The committee hosts several events throughout the year:

Apiary Open House - June 24th
Drain Stenciling - July 21st
Recycling Event - September 22nd
River Sweep - October 13th
