Fire Station 16

The new state-of-the-art Hanover Park Fire Station 16 was completed in July 2024.  A Ribbon Cutting/Grand Opening Ceremony was held on August 21, 2024.  This new station will allow the Fire Department to continue to service our residents, while providing a more efficient facility to train and provide service out of.  This new facility replaces the old fire station at 3855 County Farm Road, which is no longer in service.

The new station includes three truck bays which are now able to house the larger vehicles in the Fire Department's fleet, individual dormitory style sleeping quarters to allow for more restful sleep, and specialized areas designed to decrease the exposure to carcinogens, products of combustion, and other pathogens by dedicating areas as green (clean), yellow (decontamination areas), and red (potential for contaminants).

One of the primary goals of the new station is to improve safety and efficiency of the Fire Department's operations.  Beyond operational improvements, the new station features a conference/training area that will allow crews to stay in the station for meetings and daily training instead of traveling to the North station.

Another critical goal is to strengthen mental and physical well-being.  The new station incorporates a fitness facility for exercise and private areas to decompress after a stressful situation.

Vehicles house in Fire Station 16 include Engine 16, Medic 16, Tower Ladder 17 and the new Utility 15 pick-up truck.  Station 16 is located on a property that the Village already owned.
