Hanover Township Aging Services Department provides many wonderful programs and services to Hanover Park residents 55+ living within the Township boundaries. The Hanover Township Senior Center is located at 240 S. IL Route 59, Bartlett, IL 60103. The Aging Services Department's services include:
- Club 59 Newsletter - published every 2 months. The newsletter lists events, classes, and programs available at the Township. You can receive the newsletter via regular mail or email.
- Enrichment Programming - anything from arts and crafts, to entertainment, exercise and fitness classes, local day trips, technology classes and cultural and historical presentations.
- Home Care services - to assist older adults who need additional services and support to remain in their homes and prevent unnecessary nursing facility placement.
- Lending Closet - provides loans of basic medical equipment such as bath chairs, canes, wheelchairs, and walkers (and many more) for a small security deposit.
- Social Service staff to assist with energy assistance programs, health insurance counseling, therapy and psychiatric services, pharmaceutical assistance, public aid programs, general benefit information and information and referrals to additional services.
- Transportation - Hanover Township Dial-A-Bus Program for township residents 55+ or 18+ with a disability, traveling with in the Township borders; T.R.I.P. Program which allows township residents to travel across up to 5 township borders to access hospitals and medical centers; and Weekly Shopping Trips to Walmart and Jewel on specified days. - Stars-N-Stripes Cafe - located within the Township Senior Center is open for lunch Monday - Friday, 11:00am - 1:00pm. The Cafe offers a daily choice of two different hot meals, or an entree salad served with fruit and milk. No reservations are required. Diners can enjoy their meal in the cafe or take it "to-go". A donation of $4 for those over 60, and $6 for all others is suggested. You can find the weekly menu on the Aging Services page.
- Ye Olde Gift Shoppe - also located within the Senior Center, is open to the public. The Gift Shoppe is operated by volunteers and all proceeds benefit the patrons of the Senior Center. The Gift Shoppe features jewelry, glassware, and other home goods.
- Volunteer Opportunities - volunteers are a crucial part of Hanover Township Aging Services. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities available in the areas of Administration, Enrichment Programming, Nutrition Services, Social Services and Transportation Services. If you are interested in volunteering, please call (630) 483-5600.
Hanover Township also operates a Food Pantry/Community Center located at 7431 Astor Avenue, Hanover Park. The Hanover Township Food Pantry is available to all residents for walk-in, curbside pick-up, or home delivery for qualifying residents.
- Residents can use the Food Pantry once per week.
- Pantry hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9:30am - 3:00pm; Tuesdays 1:00pm - 6:00pm, and Saturday 9:00am - 11:30am.
