The Bloomingdale Township Senior Center provides a clean, comfortable and safe place for seniors to participate in various activities.  The Senior Council of Bloomingdale Township also operates out of the Center and functions as a clearinghouse for activities and information between the township and various other senior groups.  The Senior Center is located at 6N050 Rosedale Avenue, Bloomingdale, IL 60108.  The Senior Center can be reached at (630) 529-7794. The Center offers the following services:

• "The Senior Connection" - A free bimonthly newsletter with circulation to over 2500 senior citizens in Bloomingdale Township.
• Congregate Meals - Home delivery of meals to homebound senior citizens is also available through the "Meals on Wheels" program.
• Vehicle Stickers - Senior citizens residing in unincorporated areas of Bloomingdale Township may obtain vehicle stickers, free of charge at the Senior Center.  Drivers' License and proof of car ownership are required.
• Rules of the Road Review Course - In cooperation with the Secretary of State's office, this program is offered to drivers who are due to renew their drivers' licenses.  Advanced registration is required.  No fee.
• RTA Reduced Fare Passes - You may pick up applications for the bus pass for seniors over the age of 65 at the Senior Center.
• Income Tax Assistance - Sponsored by the AARP, this service helps senior citizens file their income tax statements and is offered free of charge at the Senior Center from February to April every year.  By appointment only.
• Energy Assistance - LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) through the DuPage County Community Services Department.  This program assists eligible senior citizens with paying their winter heating bills.  Applications can be filled out at the Senior Center office by appointment only.
• Recreational Activities - Bingo games and card playing are regularly featured by the Senior Center.  Exercise, ceramic and stained glass are offered weekly.  The Center is also used by many as a social gathering place.
• Lending Closet - Medical equipment donated by seniors for use by seniors.  Equipment can be checked out for up to three (3) months free of charge.
• AARP Drivers Safety Class - You can expect to learn current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques and how to operate your vehicle more safely in today's increasingly challenging driving environment.  Upon completion you will receive a certificate.
• Additional services include - Flu Shots, Temporary Handicapped Parking Permits, Voter Registration, Notary services and Referrals for needed services.
• Volunteerism - the Senior Center has a staff of nearly 25 senior citizens who volunteer their time and efforts to perform necessary tasks such as collating the newsletter, teaching classes, delivering meals and more.

Bloomingdale Township also operates a General Assistance Program and Food Pantry located in the Township offices at 123 Rosedale Avenue, Bloomingdale.  

• Bloomingdale Township residents can visit the Open Pantry twice per calendar month.  The hours are Wednesday and Friday, 9:00 am - 11:00 am.
• The Pantry also has Appointment Only hours, on Monday and Friday, 9:00 am - 2:00 pm.

Additionally, Bloomingdale Township sponsors a curb-to-curb transportation service available for Township residents through Pace's Dial-A-Ride program.  Trips are within Bloomingdale Township, along with some special locations.  Service hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 6:00 pm.  Registration, rates and reservation information is available at Pace Dial-A-Ride Bus Service.
