Departments

Clerk's Office

The Village Clerk, an elected official, is the keeper of the official records of the municipality and maintains accurate records of the proceedings of the President and Board of Trustees.

Code Enforcement

The Code Enforcement Unit is responsible for: Protecting the health, safety and maintenance of all residential properties within the Village Enforcing the International Property Maintenance Code and the Hanover Park Municipal Code. Administering the Rental Residential Licensing program. Inspecting all residential rental properties in the Village

Community & Economic Development

The Community and Economic Development Department is primarily responsible for activities related to economic development, planning and zoning, and being a liaison to the Economic Development Committee and the Development Commission.

Emergency Management Division

Engineering Division

The Engineering Department provides planning, engineering, construction, inspection, and acceptance of new improvements such as streets, sanitary, storm, and water facilities. The department also provides record keeping and land improvement services.

Finance Department

The Finance Department coordinates the financial administration of the Village including overall accounting, budgeting, treasury, and collection functions.

Fire Department

The Hanover Park Fire Department provides fire, rescue, and emergency medical services to the residents and visitors of the Village of Hanover Park and surrounding unincorporated areas.

Human Resources

Today, Human Resources departments are an integral part of an organization’s strategic planning and policy development. The Village of Hanover Park’s Human Resource Department responsibilities are grouped into three functional areas: advisory, service, and control.

Information Technology

The Information Technology Department works as a service organization serving the other departments within the village to improve communication, streamline processes, lower costs and gain the greatest return possible in technology investments.

Inspectional Services

The Inspectional Services Division protects public health, safety, and welfare by performing health and property maintenance inspections, and inspections of all nonresidential buildings. The Division also performs construction permitting and inspections on all new buildings and improvements to assure compliance with building codes.

Police Department

The mission of the Hanover Park Police Department is to provide quality law enforcement services, maintain and improve community livability by working with all citizens to preserve life, maintain human rights, protect property, and promote individual responsibility, community commitment and involvement.

Public Works

The Public Works Department consists of the Administration, Streets, Forestry, Public Buildings, Fleet Services, Water Treatment, Water Distribution and Maintenance, Water Meter Operations, Sewer Maintenance, and the Wastewater Treatment Division.

Village Manager

The Village Manager is appointed by the President and Board of Trustees and implements the policies set by the President and Board of Trustees and provides day-to-day administrative functions necessary for the professional management of the Village.
